Objectives of the Course •Encouraging critical thinking on the relationship between language and gender, and translation and gender,
•Introducing gender-related concepts, and gender-conscious/feminist approaches to translation,
•Raising students’ awareness of translational matters and gender-related issues,
•Bringing theory and practice together, developing students' feminist/gender-conscious translation practice skills through intensive translation practices in class.
•Teaching students relevant terminologies to ease their translation processes.
Course Content Attendance is a must. There is an absence limit of 30 % of the total course hours (which is 12 hours) in a term. The students who will exceed the limit will automatically fail. Partial absence or lateness of 15 minutes or more will be counted as a full class absence. The students should participate in all the activities done in the class and do the assigned homework. Assignments should be submitted on time. No late submissions will be accepted.
