Objectives of the Course This course aims to introduce the students to discourse analysis, discourse based components and theories of discourse analysis, improve their skills in identifying the differences between text and context, textual and dynamic equivalence, and use their theoretical knowledge in discourse analysis in translation studies.
Course Content Basic elements and theories of discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis of written and oral texts, analysis of lexical, syntactic, and discourse units in oral and written texts, conjunctions and transitions.
