Objectives of the Course This course has been designed to equip the students in the department with basic language skills. It aims to develop the students’ ability to understand the language of study and express themselves in basic situations by making use of four skills.
Course Content The course content is enriched with lectures and exercises on reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in French.

1 Masculine and feminine form of qualitative adjectives. Tonic pronouns. Characterizing a person.
2 Plural form of qualitative adjectives. Talking about family. Possessive adjectives. Inviting someone to an event. Conjugating the verb “dire”. Body parts.
3 Talking about leisure. Revision of previous lessons. Listening exercise about a dance lesson and an appointment. Writing exercise about holiday.
4 Indicating time and schedule. Expressing an obligation (the verb “devoir” and “il faut”). Talking about habits, telling some activities during a day. Pronominal verbs.
5 Fixing a date. The pronoun “on”. Conjugating the verbs “pouvoir” and “vouloir”. Inviting someone to an event. Imperative form of verbs. Near future tense (Le futur proche).
6 Talking about daily activities. Expressing regularity and frequency. Indicate a specific time. Past tense (Le passé composé) Talking about past activities.
