Objectives of the Course On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will be able to talk and understand basic texts on the topics of professional employment, study, leisure activities, hobbies,going to the doctor, traveling in transport, going to the store, restaurant, visiting friends and relatives. Students can understand and express themselves by using the targeted levels of language skills which they will use as a basis for their future lessons.
Course Content Within the framework of this course, students develop their language skills and abilities, as well as deepen their knowledge of the grammar of the Russian language, expand their vocabulary within the framework of the course topics. The language program has been prepared in accordance with the criteria established by the CEFL for the elementary level.

1 Introductory part. Review of the past semester.
2 Days of the week (pronunciation). Past tense of verbs. Past tense of "BE" verb. Adverbs of time. Verbs "LOOK" and "SEE" and their usage. Speech patterns: I AM BUSY, I AM SICK, I AM HAPPY TO SEE YOU.
3 Seasons of the year. Verbs of movement. Accusative case: the direction of movement. Prepositional case: types of transport. Dialogues and monologues on the topics of excursions, trips.
4 Types of the verb: imperfect and perfect. The use of verbs of different types in the past tense. Expressions of time. Reading a fairy tale. Dialogues on the topic of the circus, cinema, theater.
5 Verbs of movement. Dative case: the direction of movement. The verb "be able", features of its use. Dialogs with time expressions.
6 The genitive case of nouns and pronouns. Genitive case with numerals. The names of the months. Reading texts. Writing letters.
7 Verbs of movement in the past tense. The concepts of place, direction of movement, place of departure. Expressions of time. Reading a fairy tale. Speaking on everyday topics.
8 General review of the material of the course. Midterm exam.
9 Simple and complex future tense. Perfect and imperfect verbs in the future tense. Speech etiquette. Talking about plans for the future.
10 Dative case: the addressee of the action and the age. The constructions "who likes what" and "who likes what". Constructions "must", "must" with the subject in the dative case. Talking about preferences, TV shows, habits.
11 Imperfect verbs: actions that occur simultaneously. Perfect verbs: a sequence of actions. A complex sentence with the conjunction "?????". Congratulations, proposals, expressions of refusal and consent.
12 Instrumental case of nouns and pronouns. Talking about preferences, celebrities. Reading and writing on the same topics.
13 Prepositional case of nouns and pronouns. Definition of the object of thought and speech, characteristics of the subjects in question. Dialogues and monologues on various topics.
14 Course overview: types of verbs, tenses of verbs, conjugations of verbs. Complex sentences describing cause or effect.
15 Course Overview: Cases of nouns and pronouns, the use of adverbs and adjectives. Complex sentences of time, place, subject.
16 Final exam
