Objectives of the Course Political Sociology is an interdisciplinary erea of research in social sciences at an intersection of political science and sociology. The course is designed to examine various political phenomena like political participation, political parties, electoral behavior, political ideologies, politicla culture, social movements, democratization etc. with views from various sociological theoretical traditions (like liberalism, socialism, nationalism, functionalism, inmstitutionalism etc.). Political science benefits substantially from various methods of analysis, theortical perspectives and tools from sociology and the course is thus introduced to facilitate the students' abilities to develop sophisticated analysis and understanding of the political phenomena.
