Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to develop students' ability to access, question, evaluate, verify, and use information ethically in digital environments. The course covers internet technologies, effective use of search engines, social media literacy, digital citizenship, AI-assisted information generation, information verification methods, safe internet use, digital ethics, copyright, personal data protection, and cybersecurity awareness.
Course Content This course covers the fundamentals of the internet and web technologies, digital literacy and web literacy concepts, information access methods, advanced search techniques, information verification, social media literacy, misinformation and disinformation, AI-assisted content generation and verification, digital citizenship, personal data protection, safe internet use, cybersecurity awareness, digital ethics, copyright, licensing, and media literacy through case studies.
Course Methods and Techniques Lecture, discussion, case study analysis, and project-based learning.
