Objectives of the Course CouThe aim of this course is to instill a culture of occupational health and safety in students, to introduce them to the hazards and risks that may be encountered in working environments, to provide them with basic knowledge and skills for preventing work accidents and occupational diseases, to teach them the rights and responsibilities of employees within the scope of the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, and to create awareness of safe working practices.rse Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with a safety culture, introduce occupational hazards and risks, explain occupational accidents and diseases, and provide fundamental knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation.
Course Content CourThe course covers fundamental concepts of occupational health and safety, work accidents, occupational diseases, occupational health and safety legislation, risk assessment, identification of hazard sources, physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic risk factors, personal protective equipment, machinery and electrical safety, fire safety, emergency management, basic principles of first aid and safety culture, and sectoral occupational health and safety practices.se Content

Basic concepts of occupational health and safety, occupational accidents, occupational diseases, OHS legislation, risk assessment, hazard identification, physical, chemical and biological risk factors, personal protective equipment, machine safety, electrical safety, fire safety, emergency management and first aid.
Course Methods and Techniques The course is conducted online (synchronously). To ensure active student participation in the teaching process, methods such as lecturing, question-and-answer sessions, discussions, case studies, and problem-solving are used. Topics are supported by examples from current workplace accidents, occupational diseases, and occupational health and safety practices. Students are expected to review relevant resources before the course, review the topics after the course, and complete assigned homework. The learning process is supported by lecture notes, presentations, legal documents, and digital educational materials. The course aims to develop students' skills in interpreting theoretical knowledge, assessing risks, developing a safe work culture, and applying occupational health and safety principles in their professional lives. Digital educational materials, current workplace accident examples, and legal reviews are used throughout the course.
