Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to develop students' English listening and speaking skills for effective communication in academic and professional contexts. The course aims to improve students' critical listening, oral interaction, participation in academic discussions, presentation skills, expressing and defending opinions, and the effective use of communication strategies.
Course Content This course focuses on developing students' listening and speaking skills in academic contexts. The course includes listening for main ideas and details, making inferences, note-taking, oral interaction, discussion techniques, expressing opinions, asking and answering questions, presentation skills, interviewing techniques, group discussions, critical thinking, interpreting visuals and graphics, persuasive speaking, and academic communication strategies.
Course Methods and Techniques The course is delivered through lectures, question-and-answer sessions, classroom discussions, listening activities, individual and collaborative learning, role-play, presentation practices, problem-solving activities, peer assessment, instructor feedback, and technology-supported teaching methods.
