1 The students will be familiar with the health effects of stress, pain mechanisms, and management.
2 The students will be familiar with and understand theories of prevention and management of chronic diseases including hypertension, coronary heart disease, cancer, and immunological disorders.
3 The students will know how to recognize a need for, and design programs of behavior change strategies for smoking, overeating, physical inactivity, and sexual risk behaviors.
4 The students will gain the ability to read and critically evaluate the contribution of original research articles.
5 The students will gain the ability to recognize a need for and design behavior change interventions.
