Objectives of the Course This course presents students with a broad introduction to the major themes of applied social psychology. The course explores how social psychological theories and research can be used to address real-world issues and improve individual and societal well-being. The key focus of the course is on the applications and practical implications of social psychology in education, health, media, interpersonal relationships, prosocial behavior and empathy, workplace, and self. Beyond the theoretical knowledge, the course will provide insight into these different areas and an ability to analyze and formulate society-related examples.
Course Content Social psychological theory, research methods in applied social psychology, applying social psychology to different areas of life, applying social psychology to one’s own life, describing Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) and Civil Society Organizations (CSO) and their activities, planning and assessing an intervention study that addresses a social issue.
Course Methods and Techniques Visual, Auditory, Read/Write, In-class Activities and Teaching Strategies will be used.
