Objectives of the Course In this course, the students are expected to be familiar about personality theoreticians’ life stories, their understanding and unique contributions to personality construct.
Upon successful completion of this course the students will be able to comprehend, evaluate and compare similarities and differences between different personality theories.
Course Content This course aims to introduce the major theories of personality, focusing on key concepts that serve to define personality. Brief life histories of the theoreticians and their approaches to what constitutes personality will be handled.
The scope of the course starts with psychodynamic theories initiated by Freud's ideas and follows with trait, humanistic/existential, biological, behavioral- cognitive and learning theories.
Course Methods and Techniques The course will be conducted in person and in an interactive manner.
